Taking sketch ideas and considering requests!

Yep!  I'm in the middle of a bit of a funk at the moment with my drawing and all.  I'm firing nothing but blanks (pun intended), and could use some ideas and the like from you people.  Sure, I've done some sketches here and there (and I should get around to posting and scanning some of those...) but my predicament is quite complicated; I can't ( Read more... )

drawing, etc., sketching, free art, art, bored, sketches, whatever

Good to hear you are putting a step forward! If you want to talk to me about the characters I told you about before, don't hesitate to contact me to see what you can add to it to make it more exciting.

Ofcourse you're always welcome to draw my character. A lot of people seem to enjoy drawing lemurs when they try. I personally love drawing their feet!
Hmm... I love cartoony violence, like a character kicking another one in the butt XD
Also fun: Taking a simple cartoon character like a dog, make weird expressions in the mirror and draw them on the character. Exxagerating/overacting is the key!! Try how far you can stretch it. You'll be amazed!
A last fun thing to do is looking up random, especially unusual animals on google images and turn them in (cartoon) drawings. A lot of the drawn animal species I see online are only regocnisable by their markings. Try to find features that are special for a particular animal and blow them up.

Ah thanks; I usually like to ask before I draw someone else's character and the like. I'm not too familiar with how the etiquette for that process is like, but it never hurts to be on the safe side. I'll give it a try, and those "handfeet" look really interesting!

And yes; I do like doodling some of the more obscure species, but IDK....for some reason, I've been in sort of a state of "blahness" where I don't feel like doing much with them. I guess it's time to force myself out of this funk and all; what better way to start 2009, eh?

Anyway, thanks, and I really should get around to scanning and posting those doodles I did. I am actually also speaking with someone (an animation student) about improving certain aspects of my cartooning, and how to get over my shortcomings on various areas (ie; certain anatomical issues), especially....feet! It's always great to get new and different perspectives on things, so I guess that's another thing I wanna achieve this new year.
