What a comfort, imagining better fathers than we had. I have a (very short) list of fathers I like in movies. Old Spock's regret. This part breaks my heart, in spite of my conviction that K/S is canon in TOS. "Love long and prosper"-- it's beautiful.
There is also a 74.3% chance that I will respond to Jim’s jokes with comments that cannot strictly be considered appropriate for a Vulcan who follows every tenet of Surak. T’Pau might have an aneurysm, if she were to come across such material. It would be irresponsible of me to cause the premature death of an individual who has been instrumental in rebuilding our civilization on the colony. That is, of course, secondary to fact that she is a member of the High Council and the head of my father’s house.
~Hee! Spock's going to engage in naughty jokes! Loving it. ~Also, his conversation with Sarek was beautiful.
The logical reasons not to cause T'Pau's death by means of aneurysm had me laughing so hard, But the call with Sarek definitely took the chapter. I really hope they get to spend some time together in the future.
