So...I found an apartment. I'd stopped looking during the summer because this is such a tourist town (seriously, I think Jacqueline Carey's latest book is my town - except for the Hellmouth part, I hope) that rents skyrocket during the summer. Summer people. Sigh.

Ahhhh, thank you! I keep telling myself it wouldn't have been so shockingly easy if it wasn't supposed to be. That's probably lies, but I'll live with it.

Oh man, the view is SO pretty. That's all wetland down there (well, it used to be lake, but the water levels are stupid low as you know cause RARRGH LAKE LEVELS) so I'm hoping for birds too.

Birds tend to happen if you feed them. Then there are lots. And then come squirrels that eat all your bird food before the birds do. Then come the woodchucks that eat all your vegetables.

...but the birds are nice.

But squirrels are adorable and cheeky and woodchucks deserve food too, and I'm really going to miss the bees. I don't think they'd let me have bees, but a beehive is such a nice companionable thing.

Thank you! I'm hugely happy about the wide expanse of sky and the bit of water. The apartment has great light too. This should be a Good Thing.
