So...question.

For those of you who've played with Sculpey in the past...

Does it come in certain colours or do you have to paint it?  I looked around their website and can't quite figure it out.

Not that I have any reason behind the question, really.  I swear.

*looks innocent*

costuming, geekery so much geekery

I get it at Micheals and it comes in a zillion colours... there're like 3 kinds here - Sculpy, femo, and another one... they all work the same...

Oh excellent! That's what I was hoping for, but then I was worried there'd be painting involved...and I just don't do painting. Thank you!

It comes in different colours, but you can also paint it. I'm currently making the Leia Ceremonial necklace out of silver Sculpey, but it in no way looks metallic or silver - I'm painting it with silver leafing pen.

But if you want another colour, it might work.

Ooooh, that sounds like it's going to turn out beautifully! I can't wait to see the finished necklace and costume!

I just wanted a specific light blue colour and figured I'd have better luck buying a light blue bit of Sculpey then trying to mix paints or whatever. Because paint and I don't really agree.

I like Premo Sculpey the best. If you watch, Micheal's will run it for .99 a block.

Use Super Sculpey if you can find it. It's a bit softer and easier to work with. It does come in colors, though some stores only carry regular Sculpey in the colors, so it may take some looking.

Oh, thank you for that! I don't really need anything terribly pliable because I just need a simple design, but I'll keep that in mind for when I get addicted to playing with Sculpey as I have a feeling will happen.
