Totally. I've been having an extended conversation with a couple of evangelical libertarians about how they reconcile Christianity and libertarianism causes brain pain as well. Time and time again, compassion and cooperation have proven itself to be the most reasonable choice in creating and maintaining healthy, livable societies. I find it telling that those who are the least likely to believe in biological evolution tend to be the most socially Darwinistic. Oy.

That is very interesting. That word cloud on the study itself was so revealing as to the fearfulness that underlies contemporary conservative beliefs an d perceptions of the world.
