YES to the checklist. You have a Mac - have you played with iCal? You can make a calendar just for college stuff and put all your phone calls in the tasks ... my life lives in ical.

I played with iCal a bit when I first got my Mac, but am just not naturally an organized person so it fell quickly out of use. May have to try again as I am less likely to lose my Mac than small pieces of paper or entire calendars.

Good luck with the job and the organizing. I've recently found lists to be very handy, though more in the forming of coherent emails and fleshing out vague story ideas or magic guidelines. I also am somewhat disorganized and tend to lose notes written on paper unless I remember to stick them in safe places, like my sketchbook. >.> Although I seem to be to lose the ones I make on the computer, too. -_- But it at least has a search option.

Hee, nope, can't go wrong with Clue or Discworld icons.

Yes, sketchbooks are handy that way. I rarely misplace my sketchbook and it currently has several job-related notes written in it or tucked into it.
My room needs a search function...
