Woke up this morning and got yourself a gun

So I've been watching The Sopranos a few episodes a night. It's the perfect show to go to bed to, slow but interesting to watch that puts me to sleep (in a good way). At first I was skeptical, THIS was the show everyone thought was one of the best? Comparisons to The Wire did not help. But okay, it grew on me and by the end of the first season I ( Read more... )

I got halfway through season four of The Sopranos and then I stopped watching. I liked it enough, I just never got to the point where I LOVED it, so I called it a day.

It definitely has NOTHING on The Wire. As you said, the difference with Sopranos and The Wire are the characters. Besides Carmella and Janice, I hated everyone. I'm not saying I have to love the characters, but I just wanted them all to get wacked. The Wire, on the other hand, creates some brilliantly messy characters who I love and love to hate.

Really? I thought you liked it a lot. I hear S4 is the weakest season so I have my expectations lowered accordingly. I'm just glad I was finally able to get into it although the beginning of the seasons take awhile to pick up IMO.

The Wire definitely makes me love all the characters more fully but I'm still loving The Sopranos characters in a family way which is nice. It's definitely very gray and dark but I like that so it works for me.

Season three was probably the strongest one I saw but, I don't know, I never fell in love with it. I'm not even curious as to how it will end, which is rare for me when it comes to critically acclaimed HBO shows. I'm usually all into it. I guess I just prefer my mafia old-school. *see icon*

I actually thought S3 was the weakest personally but that's just me, I found it kind of boring. And yeah, I thought it'd totally be your thing. I actually have never finished The Godfather (have seen the first 2/3 two times) or the second one so I'm planning on doing a mafia movie marathon once I'm done with the show.

I watched The Sopranos since the first season and was screaming at the end. I absolutely fell in love. I love Tony/Carmela's crazy relationship (wait til you get further along in the series) and Christopher. I HATE Janice. She annoyed the shit out of me.

Never got into The Wire, though. Hm.

I'm glad I'm not alone! I'm definitely in love. Oh man, I can't wait to see what happens with them. I love crazy lol. Janice doesn't bother me but I can see where she'd be annoying. Still she's worth it for that plot twist.

You should! It's definitely the best show out there and completely worth watching.

Mmmm so sexy there. I'm the same way though, any CJ is good for me. But yeah, love that episode and Sam in it as well. It was cool to see them interact. Heee loved that line too!

Heh the ending's the only thing I was spoiled for, not the content but how it ended so I'm prepared. I actually don't think I'll mind that much but I might be saying a different tune when I get there/if I watched it when it aired.

Yay them! Hope we get some more stuff on them. It was just so weird having them flirting in front of everyone but that's how it is I guess.
