Sophomore Slump

Jan 29, 2006 02:52

So I guess the sophomore slump phenomenen really is true. It seems that most of the shows I've watched have been struck with it in one way or another. A recap:

Thoughts on Seasons 1-2 in shows of Veronica Mars, Grey's Anatomy, Desperate Housewives, Lost, Queer as Folk, The OC, Smallville under the cut )

tv, queer as folk, desperate housewives, fandom, smallville, veronica mars, the oc, firefly, grey's anatomy, lost

I've said this before, but it might bare repeating...I think that S2 QaF seemed to go off the deep end in ep. 216, after establishing such a developing relationship with B/J in particular, because shortly before writing 216 was when the producers got the "green light" for S3 & S4. They quickly scrambled for a cliffhanger ending that they hadn't counted on needing.

Yeah I know what you mean. Things need to be planned and not changed so quickly. Personally though I don't think it was too bad until they really started to get into S3, it was just the end of S2 that started it.

I feel the same way about VM. I just don't have the connection to the characters I did in the first. As for Firefly *sighs* I would be happy with a crappy second season as long as there was one.

I agree so much. I'm going back to rewatch S1 (again ;)) and it's just so disappointing to see the wide difference. I know there's something wrong when I feel I'm just watching to see what happens and that I'm not really involved in it instead of watching for my favorite characters and to enjoy it.

I agree about Firefly, I just want to see it again. And I trust that Joss would make it good anyway.
