Too Much To Do

Sep 15, 2009 15:24

College is really overwhelming me right now. I feel like the walls are closing in on me and there's not enough time to do anything or give anything the time it deserves. I had fun at the Outwest Bootcamp this weekend but because of that I lost almost my entire weekend so I'm massively behind on these two big projects for my design classes due ( Read more... )

It sounds like you need some solid time management skills, which unfortunately I can't help you with because I was never particularly good at it myself (queen of procrastination, me). But think about asking someone to help you with time management. I think most tutoring centers can do this. It's perfectly normal to be overwhelmed with school, but it doesn't have to stay that way. :)

Well I am doing better at it, I'm just facing a lot more time intensive tasks and things to do than before. I actually have done the whole time management tutoring thing before (twice) so I know HOW to do it...it's just tricky to deal with. This weekend I have nothing to do so I should be able to catch up thankfully. I will get help if that doesn't work though.

Stick aside some time on Saturday, Oct 3, if you can. I'll be in Inglewood (La Quinta LAX) Oct 1 -6 and wanted to see if you could do some touristy stuff with me (Hollywood, maybe). I'll buy the gas and the meals! *hugs*

I just saw that the L.A. County Fair is still going on in Pomona, Oct 3-4 is the last weekend.

Fair food and tacky carnival rides.

Oooh.

Well I managed to finish one and I'm turning in the other late (it's only a part of the final project) so with this weekend I'll be able to be all caught up for it. Focusing on one at a time and prioritizing is what I try to do, it's just hard sometimes. Hopefully it'll get better.

Have you noticed that most of the stuff that makes you happy are fandom based and all the stuff that stresses you out is reality based? Sometimes the internet is a much better place than the real world. And that was my brilliant observation. *cringe* I'm afraid I don't have an answer on how to manage to be happy in real life. Still working on that myself.

Heh yeah I have. It really is sometimes, that's why I make sure to keep some fandom in my life. I'm working on it as well, hopefully we'll figure it out :)
