Mad Men's back YAY! I got a download from the hotel and watched it Monday morning and have resisted getting too into it before I finished all my VVC writeups (okay I do have a couple more coming but those are not as much write asap). But here's my episode thoughts on the third season premiere!

Exactly!! I love Don and Betty a lot but no matter how much they grow up, I don't think they'll ever be right for each other as they fell in love more with the illusion of happiness versus the person that makes them happy. And very true about Don's type. He's definitely a different kind of man while still being a man of his time which is realistic.
Heh yeah first season Pete is just SLIME. I hated him too. He does get better in S2 and I'm now at love to hate with rare moments of sympathy. Keep in mind that he's basically a child imitating other people, trying to get ahead...it's not a good combination ;)
I was SO PROUD of Peggy when she did that! Her storyline gets even better next season, you'll see. And ITA about Joan, I want so much for her to be free but she's so stuck in going after the usual. I still have no idea what's going to happen to her.
Keep watching!!

I'm thinking of Sal, I'm thinking of some of the women fantasizing. I'm only halfway through season two, so I'm waiting to see what develops.

Lindsay Lohan actually did herself justice. I don't know about the edits, but she sounded mature and coherent.

I was surprised! She did sound like she knew what she was saying.

I'm totally on board with the idolslash love these days, too! Adam and Kris are seriously the most visibly romantic male relationship I can think of in media right now, gay, straight, whatever. I just. Lately I've been really into the few insights we've gotten into their behind-the-scenes casual type interaction, like before performing on GMA or a clip from when they visited Graceland. Because *that* is where you see how they're just *connected* in that BFF/soulmates kind of way where they orbit each other and are focused on each other and touch each other all the freaking time in really casually affectionate ways and just HEARTS HEARTS HEARTS.

Throughout this entire paragraph I was shouting YES YES YES cause yeah, that's exactly it. I have only begun to see everything out there with them but it's making me extremely squeeful especially with the looking and touching and how they are ALL about each other. It's too adorable.

I loved that they just hit us BAM in the face with Sal getting it on with a man for the first time. MM is so good at teasing certain stories and situations. Like how they teasing Betty/Arthur all through S2, let it fizzle, then hit us BAM in the face with Betty's anonymous restroom affair. It felt like the audience was Sal in that moment; shocked and thrilled. I hope this is the beginning of a larger story for Sal in S3. I'm glad to see Kenny getting a bigger role too. I wonder if they'll go back to the Sal/Ken crush story?
Heh. Pete is my guilty pleasure. I feel bad for loving him. Though I often feel like Pete is no worse than the other Mad Men, he just isn't as cool about being a bastard, you know? But even if you hate Pete, you can enjoy all the grief he gets.
I hadn't thought about how the Blondie/Don scene was like first time Pete/Peggy. There's another Peggy and Don parallel.
I'm really enjoying Lane and Moneypenny already!
