Having declared victory over four (\o/) household projects in the last 24 hours, I'm just going to ignore the fact that there are still 5 loads of unfolded laundry waiting for me, and tell you These Things instead:

I LOVE YOUR BRAIN.

(I hope LJ lets this through. I've been trying for a bit.)

PS Writing characters makes me fonder of them, too. I hear you. :)

PPS If LJ doesn't let me say it there -- AWESOME Winona/Gaila ficlet, and I so approve of Pike/Winona storytelling time.

That's my brain loving you back. :D

It's so funny, isn't it, the way writing a character makes you feel for them. I've never felt a desire to write Winona--which I tell myself is because my circle of fandom seems to have staked out an interpretation of her character that I don't really have a feel for, but that may be wildly off the mark and I may just be remembering a few stories where I felt alienated from how she was depicted. Anyway! Being asked to write a character I'm not normally inclined toward writing is so good for me, It's one thing to think I don't care for the way Winona is depicted a lot, but making an affirmative decision about how I would portray her is a much more interesting challenge.

(BTW, older Winona in my head is played by Vera Farmiga. And also, OMG Pike/Winona storytelling, gah.)
