It took me an embarrassingly long time to even figure out what RaceFail was.

The only reason I knew about it from early on was that I keep an eye on metafandom. Otherwise I'd have been baffled.

Still, I've seen some good things come of it--discussion of issues that are normally tiptoed around, people who felt isolated in fandom finding allies--so I can't say it's all been Fail.
