Outside The Audacity of Hope, I'm not sure which books I've been reading lately are from PoC. I USUALLY DON'T PAY ATTENTION TO THE AUTHOR WHEN I PICK UP BOOKS. I may watch out for that. Especially since I'm reading so much history.
Then you should really check-out Latin-American literature. I'm not completely sure if they're POC; but Julio Cortazar, Juan Rulfo, Cristina Rivera, Mario Vargas Llosa and the rest of the gang are must read material with or without "racial" limitations.
lol, I guess I hit the right spot when I said Salt Fish Girl then. It's the only sci-fi book I can think of that a POC wrote for......
Hmm, I know Nalo Hopkinson has some fantasy books, but I haven't read them in ages, so I really can't remember how good they were for the life of me...
Also, Laurence Yep has a Dragon series that I heard was supposed to be good. Um, I haven't read that series in and of itself, but I really, really liked his Golden Mountain Chronicle series, (Child of the Owl in particular), so yeah. =D
Stalker lurker here but I came across your Lockon/Tieria essay on the pairing community and enjoyed greatly so seeing that you'll be writing a manifesto for the pairing makes me incredibly excited! :D
