It's easy for me to say why 00's second season ended up as a failure. I just need to post this:

I mean... is it forbidden or something for the characters in the show to have clear body language or particularly interesting expressions? The scene with Billy and Sumeragi was equally bad. It's impossible to have any kind of investment in the story when it is delivered such poor acting, not to mention the total lack of atmosphere.

And that is why Gundam 00's second season failed. The director and staff obviously just don't care.

I was going to talk at length about the themes and characterization touchstones they've abandoned and also harp some more on how they keep giving consistency and characterization the boot in favor of convenience, cheap shortcuts, and flashiness.

But you make a compelling point.

Hi, I got here through a link to your Tieria/Lockon essay and I really like your write-ups for G00. It makes the fail of S2 more bearable and I feel like I can actually watch G00 to the end. Um, I hope you don't mind me friending you? ^^;;

And it sucks that you lost that essay. I think it would have been extremely interesting to read, personally.
