Seriously, I know there are other flaws in the series (the mecha fanboy I talk about it with ridicules the "combat logic" a lot), but I could live with any of them (even my disappointment with how Allelujah/Soma played out) if they'd just do something with Lyle to justify the way he's been used.
At this point I don't really have much hope that he'll betray them, even though it would be awesome if he did, and I could see how a romance with Anew could lead in that direction. My worst fear now is that Tieria will start to consider him "worthy" of being Lockon. Because it's not enough that they ruin my favorite character posthumously, they have to mess up my favorite pairing too. >:(
But I could put up with a lot more easily if there were more people in fandom calling them out on the bullshit. I keep kind of boggling that so many people in fandom are uncritically accepting what seems like such a blatant pander. :/
One thing makes me happy: most of Japanese Lockon/Tieria fandom still overwhelmingly draws the original Lockon with Tieria.
It made me grin when everyone was saying 'Lockon!' and Feldt was adamantly 'Lyle!'
I really hope that isn't the favor Sumeragi asked Marie to do. 'I have a very important favor to ask you. Please watch this countdown timer for me.' I am hoping that we will see the other new Celestial Being suit soon and that this is the favor Sumeragi was really asking. That also means more time for Allelujah, since I think he got like 5 words of dialogue in the past two episodes.
On the upside, I did really like how Lyle handled those shield bits. I still don't think he's as good of a marksman as his brother, but he's pretty good at multitasking. It's also nice to see Trans Am used for more than just moving faster.
Nena was awesome. I hope to see more of her fighting, and not just in a little ship.
At least Feldt remembers that he's a different person, even if half the cast and three-quarters of the fandom seems to have forgotten. I knew I could count on her. ;)
Yeah, I've been pretty unhappy with the way Marie's been handled, but if she gets to kick ass in the Archer that could be cool...unless Archer is just Arios's equivalent of the Raiser and Allelujah does all the cool stuff while she sits on his Gundam's back pushing buttons.
The shield bits were kind of cool, I admit. I'm just too unhappy with the way they're handling Lyle to appreciate much about his Gundam right now.
Unlike the O Raiser, the GN Archer actually has a robot mode. I forget the exact armament, but it has two swords and two rifles at least. It looks like it only merges with Arios when they're both in jet mode.
Okay, that sounds pretty cool. I just hope they actually address what it means for Marie's character for her to be fighting against people who used to be her comrades.

Yeah, I want to see Nena with a Gundam again.
