I. So I haven't been posting, because I spent half of yesterday recuperating from staying up all night on various chemicals and little sleep and the other half watching TV and reading comics. Sorry. I need to get back into the habit of posting regularly. D ( Read more... )

Oh shi, my plan is uncovered--

And yeah, stupidity with mythology always pisses me off, all the more so if there's sexism in it. :( SO I RANT. ANGRILY.

Yeah, uh, I had some more bitching about the sexism inherent in the whole concept of "empowering" women by assigning mystical roles to them, but I don't want to go on about that here. I'll blog about it at some point, I think.

I have a lot of things I want to blog about. Angry politics and mystical stuff, mostly. But I'm so very lazy.

Cybele being on that list also makes me laugh, since she's an earth mother goddess.

Also the various Legion continuities and reboots confuse me so very much. Triad is Triplicate Girl, right?
I'm so very amused at who she winds up together with.

Also, Arm Fall Off Boy has the silliest power ever.

I'm surprised she didn't try to insist that all goddesses are "earth goddesses," too. Because, y'know, all female divinities are all about the fertile earth or some crap like that.

Yeah, Triad's Triplicate Girl. And...a lot of them have silly powers, but Arm Fall Off Boy (who has been rechristened "Splitter" in the current continuity, mercifully) takes the cake.

Arm Fall Off Boy is a better name.
Because if you're gonna have a lame power, keep your lame name! :D

I...normally don't ship in Western comics, but something about the large number of colorful characters is twisting that with this one. Mostly I want a Founders OT3. I know that it's supposed to be Garth/Imra and Rokk/Jenni, and it's not that I have anything against XS or her relationship with Cos (both adorable), but afdsjkl Rokk/Garth/Imra. S-shut up. I swear, they all have big fat crushes on each other (even if Imra is trying to deny it). And Garth pining after his friends at the point in continuity I've reached breaks my heart. Especially since I adore Garth--he's a sulky sassmouth with secret angst and sibling issues.

"Supposed"? Hey, canon didn't entirely support Rokk/Jenni either. ;D The potential of it, sure, but Jenni never actually opened her mouth in canon. Silly girl. ;D ( ... )

Oh, no? Well...then maybe I feel less guilty for OT3ing. ;) They are so damned cute.

And yeah, I run into the "closer to members of some other OT3 or similar group than to whoever they're paired with" phenomenon a lot in my anime fandoms. It causes Great Wank in fandom with people who are unable to cope with the idea of characters having important relationships that aren't romantic. ;) Myself, I just...enjoy the OT3. :D

Pseudo-feminists who just make things worse for people who want to make things better are one of my hot buttons D:< (Especially since I discovered that there are a lot of "feminists" who hate kinkiness of all kinds. RARGH.) There will be much rantage, yes.
