Clearly we must not let the gays corrupt the pure institution of divorce. :O

Damn right. Why, the entire country would erupt into bitch-slap fights and furious furniture rearranging overnight. It would be chaos.

Won't someone please think of the children?

Er...not you Micheal Jackson. You've thought about them enough. *shudder*

Hooray!

Now, we just have to stop Harper and his stupid open vote in the House of Commons to try and GO BACKWARDS IN TIME. Yes, let's reverse social progress because you promised an open vote even when 3/4 of Canadians say 'We decided it was OK, geez omg' He's only doing it because he made an election promise. Dude, why can't this be one of the other bazillion election promises politicians ignore?

Glad to see that States are making progress, even when idiots in my own government are trying to undo what's already done. Chretien may have been a corrupt arrogant PM, but he threw the gay marriage legislation under the door as he was leaving. Word is, he wanted to leave his mark and do something landmark and positive with his career at a time when he was leaving in disgrace.
Ah, politics.

Because the other election promises aren't about TEH GAYS and can't hurt TEH CHILDREN. Or...something, I dunno. Gay marriage is always an easy target when you want to draw attention from other issues, unfortunately. :/

Oh well. At least we're going forwards a bit here.

Technically, Harper can't really do a damn thing about it. We have gay marriage. It was passed.

He can try, though :/ That's teh suck about it. He can kick up the dirt and whine and say, 'but I promised. See, I'm keeping my promises!'

HOORAY!

Hahaha, neat. I'm in New Jersey (though technically I'm still a Florida resident). I should hook up with my dorm neighbor and marry her.

Moving to New Jersey gets more and more tempting every year.

My town will soon have two coffee shops that aren't Starbucks.

I read about this earlier today, it made me so happy. So uh, by proxy, PA should adopt the same mindset...
