Prompted by discussing Xenogears with cephiedvariable, as well as a post by kisanthe, I have finally decided to make a list of games that I have finished, games that I have played, and games that I own but am to lazy to actually play ( Read more... )

How did you like those last few levels of God of War? :D

They are a blur of ass-rape in my mind.

(And I was never able to complete the extras. It was probably the hardest game I ever played. It took me a few tries to beat Ares, and I had my brother do some of the more frustrating parts--like climbing around some ceiling or another with rotating blades in the way--for me.)

Pretty much. The whole of the Underworld is like trying to run from an oversexed tentacle monster in an unending maze. Platforming is a big gaming weakness of mine anyways, but some of those levels were just there to rub salt in the wound, I swear. Back inside the freaking Temple of Pandora, where you had to walk across those rafters? HAHA. I DIED SO MANY TIMES THEY HAVE MADE ARTISTIC FLOOR MURALS OUT OF KRATOS' ENTRAILS.

As much as I bitch though, I kind of liked the way how the game just outright pushed at me and demanded that I become faster, smarter, better, etc. It gave a real feeling of accomplishment after getting past the few bosses, especially that minotaur.

HAHA YES THE RAFTERS. That would be why I made my brother play that part for me.

There was one point...I think it might have been in the Temple of Pandora?...trying to get across a huge hallway where I kept getting attacked, and I had no way of restoring my health, and...finally I just gave in and switched to Easy mode. -__-; And even then it was hard. I remember when I saw the wall of skulls/spikes in the Underworld that you had to climb and I nearly sobbed.

But I don't think I'd change that about it, though. The game felt totally worth it. The whole thing was incredibly rich--and despite all the liberties they took, it felt truer to Greek myth than your average sanitized mythology primer (and it was nice to see Ares be the bad guy for once instead of Hades).

You still haven't been able to get ahold of a comp that can play Dreamfall? D: *hugs*

.. hm. the graphics look pretty bad for a game recommending a gig of RAM and 2500+ processor. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/b/b1/TLJ-Dreamfall-Screenshot06.jpg

It reminds me of KoToR with HDR.

I'm running it okay on an Acer travelmate 800. And I highly suspect that last screenshot is the game run on minimal resources. When I run it on my comp, it looks far better. Not that the graphics are the best I've seen, but that last one there is far from what I see when I play the game. ._.;;

W00T FOR CIV!

I started on the original Civ on Super NES; I moved to Civ II on the Computer, but the delved into the dark worlds of the badly done Call to Power I and II games, abruptly killing my enthuisiasm and leading me to miss out on civ III and IIII.

Sadness.

CivII was one game I would play again and again. Usually on cheat mode, but it was still fun as hell. I'd play as random different civilizations, too, and name all the cities accordingly--at one point, I was Benton Fraser, High Mountie of the civilization of Canada.

I know! And I went to Gamestop or something and they had the Civ II Fantastic Worlds and Scenarios explansions and when I went to the counter the guy was like "Those games aren't worth that much" or something and took the already nil-price down to even lower - I think I got them both for like $10, since they were already old games even by that point I think - and man, I played those lots too!

You are not allowed to touch any other games untill you have downloaded and finished Zelda: A link to the past
♥ ♥ ♥ To be honest I have not tried the other early ones, but if you get a N64/CameCube laying around you need to try the games for those too! Or acytally I did play the VERY firs Zelda game once but that shit was hard.

Also get Minish cap for GBA, it is not as awesome but good lord it has such cute graphics it radiates love and happyness and all that is nice.
