Fandom: the High School!

So I was talking with ew_younerd about fandom, which is always a bad idea, when it occurred to me: fandoms can be characterized as high school cliches! So I decided to try it. I was going to friendslock this, but then I realized that if the Swedish trolls want to come, let them!

XD It's all true sadly. I love Fllay as well <3. It's sad how much people bash her and show no love whatsoever ;_;.

It's not being annoyed by Fllay or pissed off at her that gets to me, because hell, she did a lot of fucked up things, and the vast majority of fans, even (I suspect) in Japan where they're much less rabid about character bashing, reacted extremely negatively to her. It's the fact that even years after the end of her character arc, people persist in frothing about how much she sucks, adding 'anti-fllay' their interests, insulting fans of her, etc.

Fortunately, from what I gather (I've only been in SEED fandom for about half a year), it's not nearly as bad as it was years ago. >_>

I agree. I'm not bothered by them being annoyed by her either because she did do the craziest wrong things XD. However I just hate how they bash her constantly(like you said even after these years) especially if it's for an idiotic shallow reason =/

I've been in for longer and yeah it was pretty bad *laughs*. Usually though those mainstream popular series get more wangst than the lesser known ones.

I don't think I've seen that one, but I've seen plenty of official images of him looking like a total girl. The Athrun/Meyrin fans claim that their pairing rules because "Meyrin makes Athrun look manly," but there's no one on or off Earth who could do that.

I just find it hilarious that they're all so damn girly. Dearka is the closest to manly of any of the younger group. XD

See, I always felt like HP was the group of popular kids. Because there's always so much drama, causing the non-involved kids to point and laugh. They're bullies, too, but there's more to it than that. They're like....the captains of the football team or something. You know, the Al Bundys. I'll stop now. :D

Hmmm. You know, HP fandom is so drama-ridden and so divided that it may actually be two students--the bullying jock as described above and the drama-causing Popular Girl who has a tempestuous on-and-off relationship with him. It is Worth A Thought!
