Mungo leaned against the counter, his arms crossed over his chest as he watched Lily dealing with the boy. It had been a while since he'd taught anyone his craft, and he was very pleased with Lily. She was an adept pupil with an abundance of empathy for what ailed the patients. She was very gifted and it was a joy to watch her mind at work. It had been years since he'd taught and mentored young healers, and he suddenly realized that he'd really missed it.

He gave her an encouraging nod when she looked back at him, but kept quiet for the moment, wanting to observe her methodology.

Gently, Lily ran her hand down Thomas' arm to see if there was anything glaringly obvious which she could feel with her fingers. The boy winced as she reached the lower part of his arm and he couldn't hold back a small whimper. Lily shushed him softly, patting his head as she removed her hand from his arm. "It'll be alright, Thomas." She said slowly and gripped her wand in her hand.

She thought back to the exercises which Mungo had been teaching her over the past few months and went over the possible ailments. Most obvious was that the boy had broken part of his arm or had torn a something within. She asked him how it had happened and was told by his mother that he had fallen out of a tree in their back yard.

Lily moved her wand downwards over the boy's arm, casting diagnostic spells to make she knew where the break was. If it was indeed a break. At the same time she continued to speak softly to the boy, explaining what she was doing and why. Lily didn't want him to suddenly panic once she began the attempt at healing his arm.

Mungo tried to keep as inobtrusive as possible, nodding in Lily's direction when the boy's mother gave him a questioning glance. He felt an odd sort of pride as he watched, proud of her and proud for himself, that he was helping her on her way.

She frowned as she was suddenly unsure of how to proceed exactly. Lily knew the basics of healing a broken bone, but this was the first time she would actually try it out. The spell looked easy enough in the text books and the way Mungo had explained it to her. But she also knew that it could easily go wrong if her intent wasn't clear enough or so the book stated.

Biting her lower lip, she glanced back at Mungo again, her eyebrows creased lightly. "Broken bone in Thomas' lower arm, Bracchiam Emendo, right?" At the same time, she smiled comfortingly at the boy and then whispered to him with conspiratorially smile. "You have to help me, Thomas. This is important. You have to sit completely still, so that I can heal your arm and you can get back outside and save the world, okay?" She grinned when he gave her hesitant nod with an accompanying shy smile.
