Breathing in the cool air, Lily pulled her winter robe closer to her body as she walked slowly through Avalon Orchard. She might like the coming winter season, but that did not mean she wanted to catch a cold and be reduced to staying in bed all day. While she like the odd days of just relaxing, she hated being confined to a specific place. She kicked up a few dead leaves with the side of her boot and watched them flutter about only to land flat on the ground a few moments later.
She kept walking, deep in thought about the resent events; seeing her son again, for one, and hadn't that been a surprise? Even if she had kept hoping she would see him at some point, though hopefully not until he had grown old and lived a full life. But, with how things had turned out, the living and the dead walking side by side, Lily couldn't say she minded much. Harry was alive and healthy and she could still see him, still hug him, still get to know him. She smiled and tilted her head up toward the sky, watching the stars through the branches of the nearly bare trees.
Then seeing Severus again... she was still a bit stumped over that. They had been able to somewhat mend the broken bridge between them and she felt relieved. She didn't want to spend her afterlife, death, second life, whatever people wanted to call it, in the same town as him and live with an animosity between them. While she hadn't thought she could ever forgive him for what he had done and said to her, it hadn't surprised her either that it had been so easy to fall back into old patterns. She had missed him and his friendship, and she felt like there was a genuine chance of them being friends again. They just had to work on it and sometimes stop themselves from arguing too much.
Lily stopped in one of the small clearings of the orchard and could now see the starry sky clearly and she suddenly felt a sudden restlessness. She had been in Annwn for several years now. She had lived peacefully without much hassle, except for the almost regular "incidents" caused by her husband and his best friend. They always had something to keep them occupied. And while she could entertain herself with brewing her potions or reading... or even trying to keep her house in one piece. But she couldn't help but feel like she wanted to do something other than that. Perhaps she would get a job, Severus was doing great for himself with the Apothecary, it gave him something to do, something he loved and he got paid for it.
Even Harry was looking for a job. He was like her on that matter, not wanting to just sit around all day, and she wondered if he had found anything since his last visit. Lily sighed and stuck her hands in her robe pockets to get them warm again as she had forgotten her mittens when she left the house earlier. Maybe she should get a job, it was something to do and it while the money was nice too, she didn't need it. It would just be nice to do something she liked and that wouldn't be the same every day. Smiling to herself, Lily turned around and started walking back home, a plan in her mind.
