Harry shut the door behind him and let out a long suffering sigh. Finally, the work day was over and he couldn't be any more glad to get rid of Snape's presence. At least till the morning. The day had been the same as the rest of them for the last few months. Silent, tense, but without incidents. Harry still refused to talk to him, unless he had no other choice, but luckily, he knew where to find the items he needed so there was no real need to ask.
'Greasy git.' Harry mentally scolded, hanging his cloak away, before walking into the kitchen. The sight of Ginny sitting at the kitchen table, huddled in a blanket with a cup of tea in her hands mildly surprised him. Usually, she was in bed asleep when he came home from work. She still looked too pale for his tastes, still ill, but the fact she was out of bed meant she was slowly getting better, didn't it?
He walked around the table and leaned down to press a kiss to her cheek. "You feeling any better, love?"
She turned her head up a little to look at him, offering a smile. It had surprised her that he continued to work with Snape, voluntarily seeing the man every day when he still could barely be in the same room as his mother. One of her hands moved to run along his arm lightly, her palm warm from the tea she had been holding. "A little."
"Did you get a chance to talk with your mum while she was here?" She asked. She hadn't had a chance yet to ask him about it, though she doubted it went well with him not offering up any information about the night.
Pulling out another chair, Harry sat down next to her, wrapping one arm around her waist. He sensed the slight shivering underneath the blanket she had wrapped around her and he concluded she was still far from being back to healthy. "That's good to hear." He quietly said, nuzzling her cheek.
When she asked about his mother, Harry stiffened. He had been avoiding that topic ever since he had sent her out, which had been relatively easy with Ginny ill in bed and not really capable of dealing with the matter. Sitting back a little, he ran a hand through his hair.
"Yeah, I suppose we did. But it didn't really turn out well." He admitted.
She relaxed into his hold, the shivering ebbing slightly at the warmth of his body next to hers. Ginny let her eyes close for a moment, a wave of fatigue running over her, but she didn't quite want to sleep. There was something they needed to discuss, something Harry needed to get through his head. She knew it wouldn't be the best of conversations but too much time had passed already. Harry needed to move past this, take the best of this second chance he had been handed.
"I assumed as much," she said, resting a hand on his leg. "Want to talk about it?"
