"I thought I was," Rabastan said, sliding back into idle amusement. "It wasn't until I learned to play chess that I realised that I'd been leaving gaping holes in my defenses. Learning Go taught me how to block those holes very effectively." He shrugged. "One of my tutors was very thorough when it came to teaching me strategy and tactics."

He chuckled and took a sip of his wine. "It is a frightening thought, isn't it? Unless they were Swedish Indians, in which case there might be some hope for them."

He arched an eyebrow and looked amused. "Cleavers at twenty paces, eh?"
