• First of all, the good news! I signed up with a temp agency yesterday - the one recommended to me by mistress_fran. Today they called me to ask if they can put my CV forward for a two week temp position as a receptionist which would be starting tomorrow. Eeeeeee! This makes me happy. Even if it doesn't come through, I feel like they are actually doing something

Oh, yeah, totally. Off the top of my head, Christina Aguilera's video for "Dirty" occasionally still fools me into thinking I like the song. Yeah, there's an element of "attractive women dancing" there, but there are a lot of videos featuring that, and Dirty does a stonkingly good job of taking those raw ingredients and actually making something that's really sexy.

Shakira's "Obsession Tango" video got me to watch it enough that I realised I really liked her singing. And more recently, Lady Gaga's stuff in general, and the video for Bad Romance in particular - awesome.

Lionel Richie's Hello is about looking for some hitherto-unmet and equally wistful partner. The music video seems to be about a blind girl making freakish clay sculptures of Lionel Richie's Head.

Oh, and She Will Be Loved by Maroon 5 is about being in love with a girl who's perpetually moving between emotionally unsatisfying and damaging relationships with people who aren't you, but according to the music video it's about trying to seduce your girlfriend's mum.
