Slow cookers are proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy and well-fed.

This may be the way my next apartment works out.

One problem that this has is that most of the recipes are 6-8 hours on low, but we are generally gone 10 hours at a time, by the time we get home it's all mush. We do use ours a lot, but generally more like once a week or so when some one's home to start it at 10am.

Oh, sure. I work weirdly close to home and also have a programmable slow cooker so your results may vary. :)

Nice!

I vaguely remember also hearing that CostCo is one of the better places with regard to ethical worker treatment, so well done there too!

The crockpot is awesome. I also find myself cooking large things like turkies and hams and pork shoulders in the crockpot or oven, and then divvying them into smaller household meal sized tupperwares for freezing up for
later use.
Crockpotted pork shoulder can be used as pulled pork sammiches with the addition of some BBQ sauce, reheating and a bun.. Or put in burritos, or empanadas among other things. Cooked ham and turkey similarly can be put into use in several different meals. This trick has saved us lots of green and a fair amount of time as well as these larger chunks of meat often go on sale!
