"Loblolly."

Noun.  1.  a thick gruel  2.  a mudhole; muddy puddle  3.  a pine common to the southeast U.S.

I ran accross loblolly while flipping through my dictionary on the way to verify the spelling of the word misspell.  Am I the only one with a completely irrational fear, despite perfectly good vocabulary and spelling skills, of spelling misspell ( Read more... )

I only knew the pine tree meaning. How can something mean such radically different things?

And misspelled always looks misspelled to me ;)
