Since this week kinda sucked

Since most shows didn't come back this week - not even LOST - and CM was pretty much a bust, I've decided to give some thoughts about two shows I'm catching up to. And, BTW, I didn't give up on DEXTER, but I'm stuck on episode five and delaying it... Sooner or later I'll get ot watch it.

I'm gonna try multiple cuts again, but I'm pretty sure it won' ( Read more... )

Oh man, you have nearly running to my QaF set to rewatch S1 and S2! So much enthusiasm for their awesomeness, I really miss that. ... Says me who watched all five seasons over a four month period, never had Showtime during its intial run, and yeeeah.

I'm gonna ask you, fans of long time, did David's character got cut because it was planned from the beginning, because Chris Potter dropped out, or because people saw David as the control freak they turned him into and needed a nicer character?

Actually, according to what I read, it's because he was a giant homophobic douche bag and everyone on set, even the straight guys like Gale and Hal, hated him. There was a quote he said at some point... I'll dig it up...

Yup, found it! Thread from over here, but I don't recommend reading the article that links to until after S5. But here's the quote:

Prior to the first airing of Showtime's "Queer as Folk", Chris Potter (Dr David) says in a Newsweek interview, "Soon as they say, 'Cut,' you spit. You want to go to a strip bar or touch the makeup girls. You feel dirty. It’s a tough job."

whoa, that's bad! no wonder the "chemistry wasn't always there". And that's so wierd, cause he also played a gay man in WILL AND GRACE. Ah, well, at least Ben is hotter, and has better chemistry with Mickey.

And don't worry about spoilers - I've read the wikipedia sinopse, I know how everybody turns out. But as I said, I don't need aaaall details.

Great review! Great job!!

I agree with every thing that you wrote but the Justin dumping Brian thing.

Brian told and showed Justin several times how things was going to be if he chooses to stay. In that moment Justin needed something else and he chose, is that simple. In his way Brian wanted Justin to stay but it's got to be in his terms, and he misses Justin so very much that it hurts me.
He'll not learn anything, Justin needed something else.

Keep watching and keep writing, I'll be waiting!

Oh, and I'll ask you to do something that a friend asked me to do once: to look for the parallels between the scenes and situations in season 2 and 4, thins that Brian and Justin do or say/don't do or don't say will have answers and correspondence in season 4. It's a great things to do!

I agree with everything that you said about Mike in the two seasons. Ben is so perfect and he makes Mike a better man, David did the opposite.

Debbie is made of wins and so is Jennifer Taylor.

Can't wait for more!

;)
