Before lockdown I had actually, finally, found a counsellor who was I making headway with. I was starting to do the 'social' thing in a small way ( Read more... )

That's a very heartwarming story 😁. Good deeds getting rewarded with cat friends. Seems like the best kind of karma to me!

Yes, I feel that Rogue is a useful 'good person' tester. He was known for peeing in porches (it stank), stealing dinners and beating up other cats and the occasional person. Only kind folk will have bothered to get to know and help him and worried when he stopped coming around.I feel it is easier to trust enough to interact with those people.

Wow I am impressed that you can harness train your stray! I tried once or twice and just got the 'not moving you'll have to drag me' . How ??

I think, luck in his (indoor) temperament and his intelligence. He has no issue with me putting it on him but the first few times were indoors and he did the dying fly. I used favourite toys indoors first, to get him interested in playing while he had it on. After a few days indoors and increasing times, when he would wear it without flopping we tried the back garden (enclosed) just for as long as it took me to have a cup of tea ( ... )

I am so happy for you!!! And it sounds like a nice relief to alternate between Mitzi and Rogue. And Mitzi looks gorgeous in her mint green harness. Rogue looks regal in his. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE that you are meeting his network of people and having a chance to interact, especially with some hard core animal lovers, because who else would be feeding a feral?

And you are so smart and kind and persistent. I love how you slowly coaxed Rogue out and the fleece burrito technique, it sounds BRILLIANT. You don't need a bunch of cat scratches, especially when he's so irrational. Your cat whispering powers are strong!!!!!

You should be proud. That's quite the accomplishment with both of them.

So good for you!
It doesn´t matter if it is a cat or a dog, the interaction is important. I hope you are proud of yourself.

Corona numbers are rising in my hometown and I hope they stay below 50 per 100.000 people so I can celebrate my birthday! :-)
