I am such a bad girl. I overslept this morning. My phone died in the middle of the night, so goodbye, wake-up alarm. Oops. At least I got a lot of sleep last night, so I do not feel so zombie-esque today. YAY

I was watching Kurt Browning's analysis of the men's short program and I have to agree with him. He said that Plushenko's an awesome athelete and knows how to work the system, but he isn't his kind of skater. He'd much rather watch Buttle or Sandhu because they also have artistry (as does Weir!!). Competition is all about landing the jumps and there's nothing like watching a successful quad (which, by the way, Kurt was the first to land in competition). But to be an Olympic champion, it feels like the winner should have something more than that.
Plushenko's definitely going home with the gold barring anything devestating, but when it comes down to it, I'd rather watch Johnny or Jeff.
I was telling Bly that the other day -- how pissy I was that the quad is just expected old hat now but that it was the fucking canadians who made it that way !

Calgary had the best winter games, ever! (Erm ... you're possibly too young to recall, but still, Best Winter Games brought to us by Canadia!)
I loved Wilson & McCall that year, but there was no way they'd win the gold. At least she's around as a commentator, explaining techniques in her beautiful voice.
The british commentary is driving me mad, ter. they talk about eddie the eagle edwards and torvil and dean. obsessively. they need new champions liek woah.
I love Plushenko because when he spins his hair flies out and he looks like a mushroom. Also because his name is just so fun to say. Yevgeny Plushenko. Yevgeny Plushenko. Hee!

Duuuuudes, get into the 90s, at least. Though I suspect the commentators are reaching for British champions to mention.
