Thirdly, I am writing again for the first time since before Hurricane Katrina. And the weird thing is, I'm not writing fanfic. I'm writing original fiction. Like, a novel. I AM WRITING A NOVEL. I have ideas and characters and a vague storyline and I don't care if it works out or not; I am writing, and that is all that matters.

WOOT!!!!!

Go, you, babe!

Somehow, I knew you'd be thrilled about that. ;)

And MEEP! It is exciting! I just sat down with a scene in my head and started writing it, and now there's this whole universe popping up around it, and it's crazy and unpredictable and I am having FUN. *g*

Let me add in the *applause*! It's so wonderful when it all works.

And Ted Raimi just rules. I got to share an elevator with him at Dragoncon about three years ago (2002, I think). It was highly surreal...he was barefoot.

My favorite story that he told that same year was how his brother got him to agree to do the Spiderman role. Pestered him for months, and Ted kept refusing. "No, Sam -- I've finally got some time off. I want to finish up some projects...reaquaint myself with my family..."

Then one day after he'd hung up on his brother, the phone rang a few minutes later. "oh -- hi mom!"

And that's how he ended up in Spiderman. :)

Can I just say how glad I was to see him in Spiderman? Because he just seems like the NICEST guy, because no one could play Joxer for all those years with that much committment and not be extraordinarily cool. I want him to have work! Work, Ted, work! ;)

2) Xena and Gabrielle are way, way, way more lesbian than I remember them, and that's saying a lot.
I was in like elementary school when I watched Xena and even I knew they were gay. Just like Hercules and Iolis. Rewatching it know will just make it all the better because I can pinpoint exactly why they're gay instead of that vague "somethings going on but I can't tell you why" feeling I had.

OMG YES HERCULES/IOLIS! I remember them! They were totally gay. *g*

I remember the first episode of Xena I ever saw; it was one of the early ones, where Gabrielle becomes part of the Amazons. And all I can remember is thinking to myself, "Damn, those two are gay." And then I kept watching, because I was strangely hooked. ;)

Yeah, it has that affect on people. No matter how much my sisters mocked me, I couldn't stop. Until like the 5th season when it got very, very weird. Hercules was more a passing thing because it was before Xena. Iolis was the awesome, but I couldn't figure out why the cheeky monkey hung around with a loser boyscout like Herc.

Firstly, hey congrats on the novel! Second, if you've never met Hudson Leick, the gal who plays Callisto, you must. Seriously, she walks into a room and commands it. I got to hold her in my arms for a photo once and it remains one of the best memories of my life. If she comes to your hemisphere go and see her.

Ted Raimi is totally a brilliant actor and the kind of guy I want to have drinks with, because Joxer is the most annoying character in the world and yet this guy plays him beautifully.

Um, I used to be a raging Joxer fan (even ran the Joxerotica list/site for a while) and I still adore the character but Ted himself...let's just say he's treated some gals I know rather badly and leave it at that.

OOOOOOO -- I would LOVE to touch the Hudson Leick. Because she is beautiful and sexy and I bet she has an ASSLOAD of charisma in person. ;)

And dude, that is so sad about Ted Raimi. I totally want to believe that he's this nice, affable guy willing to humiliate himself for the sake of comedy. SNIFF! ;)

also, dude, joxer is SO not as annoying as I remember him, and actually, this show is a lot better than I remember it, too! tis fun, the xena-watching *g*

I can only say that I'm as much of a top as is humanly possible and I wanted nothing more than to fall to my knees in front of her. So did everyone else I attended the con with. I'll never forget when we hung around for photos and she looked me right in the eye and said, "So, what do you want to do?" I replied, completely straight-faced, "Oh you don't really want me to answer that." We both giggled, then embraced for our photo.

My friend got the best shot, though, after he got her autograph earlier in the day he did this little pretend faint and she laughed a lot. Well she remembered it for the photo and swoons in his arms for the shot. He says it was the happiest moment of his life.

And dude, that is so sad about Ted Raimi. I totally want to believe that he's this nice, affable guy willing to humiliate himself for the sake of comedy. SNIFF! ;)I think the success of Xena went to his head ( ... )
