Your brief mention of Orihime at the beginning was lovely. In a very short space you were able to give her a strength of will, and a strong purpose in being a healer, rather than a fighter. Ishida's attitude recognises that it is hard role, and that it's not some second-level 'support' for the big, important fighters. *love*

That love extends to his discussion with Tatsuki and afraid in the end, there might not be anyone who could help Inoue is rather chilling... I'm glad Orhime's role in the fight ended up being such a large concept in this chapter. It aches seeing the boys recognising her pain when they forced her to sleep, but being unable to actually help her.

Of course Ichigo sat on the windowsill, rather than a chair :)
Give Kurosaki a thank you gift, and piss him off all at the same time. I love this - Uryuu could never bring himself to admit he wasn't totally self-reliant without some kick to help his own bruised ego. And in return, I have every confidence Ichigo brought up that conversation then simply because he knew Uryuu ( ... )

the only pairs i dislike more than these two r ichi with the girls or byakua but i couldn't stop reading until the end. pure magic. can't wait til renji gets his way with ishida. maybe a little bya and ryuuken pairing too? heh heh!

WOW! until i read this i wasn't sure of this pairing but now... WOW! now all we need is for renji, who is my favorite character, to mend the ishi ryu relation and get some tight quincy ass. heh!

And yes Renji will be getting some tight Quincy ass. I promise. Though I think I'm going to leave Ryuuken and Uryuu's broken relationship largely unexplored. I'm afraid if I take another tangent I'll never finish this story. ;)
