i  went to payson yesterday on a whim.  just felt like getting out of the boring, unseasonably warm city.  jake and i listened to my itunes mixes and discussed how much we both love the band muse.  it was a silly few hours.  we drove to horton's creek and fell asleep by the river.  yes, after 4 nights of work in a row i am still THAT tired ( Read more... )

i returned to phoenix and worked last night.  i slept all day.  unfortunately, i thought it was 11:30 in the morning when i woke up...i didn't realize i was 12 hours off.  my blackout curtains do their job a little too well.  the sun was already set when i got up.  i missed a whole day.  sleeping.

i have worked the past 3 days with several heart transplant patients and patients that have undergone open heart surgery (cardiac bypass).

now, i am leaving for tucson.  jake's father had a stroke.  this is when being a cardiac nurse is good/bad.  i fear for what we'll find at the VA Hospital when we arrive and i cross my fingers that he will ( Read more... )
