A friend of mine who works downtown was attacked by a knife-wielding mugger last week, right outside of the building he works in. This was at 10am on a weekday.  He had no cash on him, and apparently his credit card was not a good enough substitute, because the man knocked him down and started slashing his pants with the knife, presumably looking

I've taught Melanie some of the basic Medieval Martial Arts so that she can fend off just such an attack. It's something I've taught to a number of folks that I know who are not into martial arts. I would be more then willing to write something up. Just let me know.
