I'm all caught up now, and may I just say how much I really enjoyed this story? In fandom, we see so little of Jack and Sam as they are and as they would be together, and you capture the dynamic between them perfectly. In bad moments and good, these are absolutely the characters I adore.

Brava!

Thank you! Like most of my fics, halfway through I sort of realize what meta I am subconsciously working through in the fic. So this is pretty much my vision of Jack and Sam as a couple, not to mention Sam as commander of Atlantis. I remember AT commenting once that she sort of purposively played Sam as kind of lonely on SGA and that just stuck with me. And what fun to write! :)

Oh, yes. You use Lorne so well here--as the final word, which he absolutely should be. And the agreements between Jack and Sam--they're just perfect, and the only way it would ever work.

Hah about the short shorts. Poor Sam. We fic-writers abuse her natural modesty so much. :-) (Although with the dresses she wears in canon...)

Love it.

I think Lorne needs his own spin off fic, don't you think? Comfort secks for certain.

Hey, I don't think Sam is all that modest. She's in the military (not a lot of room for modesty and personal delicacy ;). Plus, she's evil and knows exactly what her short shorts do to Jack. (Now the skinny dipping on the other hand...)

Thanks! (Particularly for listening to my inevitable whining phase where I want to delete everything. ;)

This is a certainty.

Also, you're always welcome.

Oh, lovely. Really, I don't know what else to say, except that was a lovely, lovely conclusion.

He thinks this is the way they should wake up every morning. You know, if they lived in the same galaxy.

Aw, Jack. You're so cute!

The meeting was a wonderful scene, and I found everyone's reactions quite interesting. Especially Jack's physical distance - sitting by the door and then leaving the room altogether.

And yay for vacation on the mainland! So glad Sam let herself have some time, and some time with Jack.

Self-doubt has always been the first thing she lets go of in a crisis, just another reason she is so damn good at what she does.

That just perfectly describes Sam!

It was so wonderful, annerb! *goes to read the whole thing through again*

Aw, look at your mood music! :D The perfect s/j song

Jack is secretly a giant sap. Yes. He just hides it very, very well. (But Sam knows, of course, and mocks him mercilessly because she's secretly a sap too. lol)

I imagined that Jack would want to make it very clear that he was there for Sam, and not as a general who was there to take command if she couldn't handle it (hence sitting apart, wearing civvies, staying out of the way when action hit). Because separating the two is probably one of the most essential facets of their relationship. Although, that said, now I am really jonesing some Action!Jack. Give that man a P-90 and some BDUs, pretty please (with the tac vest. guh.) No, I am not obsessed, why do you ask?

Thanks so much for reading along with me!!!

Wow, that was excellent, well-written and rather un-putdownable (I can say that, I'm on a laptop!). I really enjoyed reading it.

Hehe. We need to come up with some internet versions of these sayings (a page-turner, couldn't put it down) lol. Couldn't click away? Hehe.

Thank you so much. I am very glad you enjoyed it. :)
