Lovely exploration of the start of the rest of their lives - the victory is not the end, merely the beginning...Great depiction of Bra'tac, the wily old fox, and Teal'c's voice was very clear. I could hear his words in my head. Our minds were apparently in sync; my last story touched on dissent in the Jaffa Nation, and started with a guerilla attack. Unity is just too utopian to last!

Thank you! Yeah, the glimpses of the Jaffa we actually got on the show seemed far from ideal, happily ever after sort of stuff. Even throwing aside the fact that not so long ago the Jaffa were all mortal enemies of various Goa'uld. So, yeah, messy. But that's what makes it interesting, no? At least enough for both of us to write about it! :)

Thank you! I struggled with this a lot, so that means so much to hear! (Teal'c is not a voice that comes easily. Hard to find the balance between having him sound like a robot and being all slangy. And romance between two Jaffa? Yikes!)

Thank you! And my fic was only, what, 25 days overdue? Eek. Very hard to write, but really interesting in the long run (This is exactly why we torture ourselves with ficathons, right? Surely there must be a reason. :)

Love this look at Teal'c- you captured he and Ishta so well I could actually see them! Teal'c is one of the characters that grew and changed so much, but it was a deep change, not easily visible-You had to look for it. I love that you show his growth here too, and Bratac's subtle "kick in the mikta" didn't hurt-LOL. Totally enjoyed this!
