I tend to go for a good role-playing role, with a little teeny allowance for my interior min-maxer -- I find I'm frustrated with a character who isn't very good at something!

I've discovered, though, that I need to play high-charisma characters. My biggest failure in terms of my own enjoyment was an elven druid I created with a fairly low charisma, a character who was racist (not out of meanness, but out of total lack of familiarity) and awkward with people. I found that the people I was playing with -- the same folks with whom I'd happily gamed a charismatic aasimar bard/wizard for more than a year -- those same people started not to like *me,* to see my character's in-role choices as *me* being difficult. I guess I role-play too well?
