I'm always more hesitant to impute bad motives to folks than is the media.
I think it's because I have vitiligo, and so was sort of personally angry when the media persisted in ragging on Michael Jackson for his impending whiteness. (Yes, there's a lot to make fun of in Michael Jackson, but vitiligo is a *disease*, dammit!)
So I'd say -- yes, there's a lot of racism in this world, and yes, fight against it. But be cautious in believing any individual charge until you know the details -- which in this case could simply be a matter of the dark lighting in one case, bright in another.
