The majority of the population is not for it anymore in France. But it couldn't be re established anyway.
You can find a bunch of interesting articles on wikipedia about the whole subject :)

So is he still for the death penalty? personally I think such a penalty is barbaric and I would never live in a place that used it. Even if it was bought back here, which there is very little chance of happening, I would move country. I wont even visit beautiful far eastern countries because they have barbaric laws.

Pascal Clement? No, he changed his point of view on the whole issue and explained in on the radio.

What does moot mean anyway?
That it's not worth being discussed? that I can make the point in my journal?
And by the way, never assume about what I think and know about a subject I decide to post about.

+++ query +++

moot = whether or not you answer 'a' or 'b' to a question, the question itself will never be asked because of other factors. in this case, whether or not anyone believes in capital punishment, it will never be reinstated.

and i *NEVER* assumed anything in my post about what you thought. My post was purely factual, purely neutral. i posted facts, not opinions. Never assume that i am trying to make you think anything, and never jump to conclusions about what i post.
