Oh, Anne, I love this! Especially how Steve is just powerless in the face of everything, it's a great sketch of the huge gulf between the type of man Tony is and the type of man Steve is. Steve can't navigate those kinds of waters and Tony is totally not winning anything through all this and mmm, delicious angst.

Yeah, Steve's just some nice dude with muscles. He isn't qualified to deal with the bundle of alcoholic daddy issues that is Tony Stark. AND YET HE TRIES. That's true love for ya.

Originally this was going to end with like... not EVERYTHING SOLVED, and definitely not HEALING INTERCOURSE, but some sort of small resolution, you know? Just like Tony accepting a hug kind of a thing. But then I decided it seemed more in-character for it to end as though they were twelve-year-olds.

Who have sex.

Let's forget that metaphor.
