Various stuff

1. Some guy from Boston just called Stephanie Miller's radio show and spouted off about how January 20th would be "a sad day for whites in America" and how PRESIDENT-ELECT OBAMA (damn, I love writing that) was "installed by Oprah Winfrey, Jesse Jackson, the NAACP and the Urban League, which many whites were too weak-minded to oppose." Yeah, there ( Read more... )

1. That is really ridiculous of some people.

3. Balance is good.

4. Kids are home from school here too. It was great for me to be able to sleep in.

Not so lucky as necessary, after my hellish day yesterday. Two plane flights and a 3 hour drive... all with a sick kid.

1. 0.0 People are dumb. I'm just glad over half of voters were not.

2. Yea Heidi!

3. *hugs you* Sorry about your mom. How's your dad doing?

4. It's cold here too, but not as cold. Just about -1 overnight with -17 windchill or something.

3. My dad's doing okay, I guess. They were married more than 50 years when she died, but she'd been sick for several years (mostly complications of diabetes) so her death was not unexpected. I reminded my husband this morning that today was the anniversary and he said, "Really? I thought she died more toward spring." *headdesk*

The ass-candle didn't rant at all; he spoke in a fairly reasonable tone. But then, so does (M)Ann Coulter.

It's 54 degrees F here right now, which would feel like beach weather to you! Yet, we are all wearing jackets and wrapped up in blankies. Damien keeps saying he needs a Snuggie so he can use his arms and be wrapped up in a blanket. I keep telling him he'd look like a monk. :)

But in our defense, when we got in the car to go to a church function on Sunday, the car thermometer informed us it was 94 degrees. So 54 is a bit of a change for us Floridians.

Yeah, if it was 54F now, people would be walking around in t-shirts :)) Oh!! DD saw a Snuggie at a Walgreens. I've yet to see one there but I guess indivdual Walgreens stores carry different "as seen on TV" stuff.

94 to 54 IS a big change.

My cousin got my uncle a Snuggie for Christmas and I guess my uncle tripped while wearing it and fell flat on his face. That's pretty much been the only Snuggie review I've heard but the kid still thinks he needs one. That and some Sham-wows. I have to keep him away from the As Seen on TV sections of stores. Unfortunately, someone didn't do this and I now have a Buxton organizer bag that he got me for Christmas. It's not bad but not the kind of purse I usually carry but since he gave it to me, I love it. :)

I'm planning to buy Sham-Wow the next time I actually see it in front of me at Walgreens. DD thinks that Vince (the ShamWow guy) is the greatest thing since sliced bread.

Do you like your Buxton bag? I can buy one at Walgreens too but I'd rather know whether anyone likes it before I spend the $20 on it. My current purse is a knockoff Prada that had only two pockets, both of which are vast like oceans and thus difficult to dig around in.

Have been thinking about you in the face of your Mom's anniversary - she passed two days short of the first anniversary of my Nan's death. Hope you and your family are now able to think about her and smile. Much love ♥
