BBCA only shows older eps of the New Who. After they have run on Sci-Fi. Those who were squeeing and are American downloaded the eps from somewhere. It will be on Sci-Fi in four weeks? I think.

Well, that is not nice of them at all! Bah. I can't download eps. I have no place to record them and my computer screen is from hell, so I wouldn't watch them there. *pouts*

We are cable-less, so I have yet to get into the new Dr. Who. Probably someday, though. We used to be big into old Dr. Who back when you could only get it on VHS.

I hope your daughter has a blast at camp! Our council did that theme last year, and the girls who went said it was awesome.

What an odd story about Sister Elzear! I've heard some doozies in my day, but the fact that she was lucid enough to research canon law while tooling around town like a crazy is quite intriguing. I have about zero grasp on canon law, even though I tried once, so that whole story is just fascinating (in a car wreck sort of way) to me.

Ah, the old who. Who's your favorite doctor? Of the earlier ones I'm torn between 4 and 5.

Fourth Doctor, totally. But my favorite companion is Ace, and I will always have a soft spot for K9. However, there is no one on this planet I love enough to knit 9' of striped scarf for.

Ha, yeah, I'd be leery. I...acquire episodes rather frequently, and due to the shittiness of my connection and the size of the ep it was taking many hours on Saturday.

As I learned from signing in once, I had to avoid LJ until I could watch it. Though many people do use cuts, they don't know how to use them properly *sigh*. Things are still inferred from stuff above the cut, like an example I saw from another show I was trying to remain unspoiled for: "Not going to show examples of these icons above the cuts since they're omg spoilery, but they're of, you know, that really shippy moment between characters 'x' and 'y' right at the end"

*headdesk*

Too bad there isn't a way you can...acquire as well.

I guess I could...acquire it...but again, my monitor is ancient and crappy and I don't have enough disk space to store eps anyway. *sigh* Must just flick past all Whovian references I guess :(

This is a "Camp Scene Investigation" camp, so the kid who watches Forensics Files on Tru-TV will have a chance to learn about the basics of investigation.

what a neat idea! It sounds like a lot of fun, I hope she enjoys herself. :)

So do I. And I hope she's having better weather than we are. We've got a major thunderstorm tonight. Ugh.

I was going to ask how all those Americans were getting the episodes so quickly, but I see here that likebunnies has stated that they're all evil and download them all and the MPAA will put them in jail for a million years.

I've just watched the very first episode of season 4, broadcast just last Sunday night. And on Monday morning two blokes discussed the episode on the other side of my office wall, letting slip the climax of the whole episode/season, that mmmmmmffffffffff. Argh!

Oh well. I'm not as wrapped in Dr. Who as some others. I gather the charisma of David Tennant has much to do with it? ;-) The actual plots never make as much sense as I want them to do.

David Tennant is a very big reason for the current popularity of Dr. Who. But Who's been around, off and on, for at least 40 years. My husband and I used to watch Dr. Who (the 4th and 5th doctors - Tennant is #10) on Saturday mornings back in the late 1980s. Each doctor has a different vibe. There are several types of plots; I tend to like the time-traveling ones the best. If you can find FIRES OF POMPEII, do watch it; it's definitely one of my favourite episodes this season.
