I'll be curious as to your husband's opinion as well as yours ... I've never thought that any of the movies stood up very well as disjoint films in their own right. The books don't lend themselves to movie format, I think, and there's always so much cut. I usually view them more as 'Selected Highlights from the books!' compendiums than as independent films. If your husband hasn't read those books then I'm curious as to what he thinks of them.
Well, I don't think hubby has any idea of what *actually* happens; I've never given him the Cliff Notes versions of the books. Selected Highlights sounds about right, but for whatever reason they end up mucking around and changing stuff enough to make serious fans scratch their heads. He's thought they were amusing, I guess, and probably that's about all.
I have no idea when I'm going to get to see it :-/ My friends are going Friday, so I could see it with them, but things are so rough with my family right now that I think I'm going to wait until my Mom has the time to go see it and take her to dinner and a movie - we haven't had a mother-daughter night out, just the two of us, in a loooooong time, and we could both use it.
Plus, I may end up at the hospital Friday night after work to see my goddaughter :)

That's kinda sad that she doesn't want to see it.

I'm sorry your daughter's lost her zeal for HP, though, my fear is that so will a large chunk of fandom. :(
*hugs*
