On the general subject of today's U.S. congressional elections

Bob Dylan said this many years ago, much better than I ever could. It was true in the 1960s and it's true now.

For the times, they are a-changin' )

elections, politics, kicking the bums out

I was always fond of the saying "All power corrupts; absolute power is kinda neat!"

Well, yeah, as long as you're the one with the absolute power. I seem to recall Bush saying something like, "It would be easier if we had a dictatorship-- as long as I was the dictator."

Hear, hear. I love that song.

(Heading to the polls straight from work, and I hope there's a nice long line.)

*pumps fist in idealistic fervor*

*crosses fingers*

*all of them*

Nice song- and I had it in mind because I watched the West Wing Election Night episode last night that played this song at the end.

And Lord Acton was absolutely right-- scarily so where this Jackass is concerned. And even more scary, he seems to think he can get off scot-free; I hope to God this election is a nice kick-in-the-pants wakeup call for him. *crosses fingers and prays*

We need some accountability. If not now, when?

Ah, bless you, Bob. So much wisdom, such an... interesting voice.

I'll be keeping 'em crossed as well.
