Lovely summer evenings

Jun 23, 2006 22:52

This is the time of year when I remember exactly why I live in southcentral Wisconsin: because when the weather is nice, it can be breathtakingly beautiful. Today was one of those days. Alas, I'm so busy at work I didn't have time to take a walk during lunch (I was too busy eating a cold meatloaf sandwich while I read my Yahoomail), but I did tuck ( Read more... )

Sounds like a lovely evening! Maya sounds like Lissa--she's a water baby, too. She's always begging to go swimming and it's never long enough. Good for you for having nice neighbors with a pool just across the street!

We have a newly built Boys and Girls Club only a half mile away from us and I need to buy a family membership, but it's a little steep. I'm sure it'll be worth it, though. Have a good night!

Ack, I had a good response all written up and Yahoomort swallowed it.

We've become friendly with these neighbors (the wife mostly, because she's arond more) because MM and Maya have been friends for several years at school. But Wendy (who is MM's stepmom) told me that MM might go to 5th grade at a school in the town where her mother lives :( Maya would be very unhappy about that, as she feels like she has almost no friends at school. I haven't done my rant about grade-school mean girls yet, have I? I really must do that.

We live only 1.5 miles from the nearest YMCA, which is why we joined. Can't use the excuse that it's too far away.

Drama is overrated. If only life could be that peaceful and ideal all the time... That sounds wonderfully relaxing for you. :)

And Land Shark? Is an awesome nickname. :P

It was nice to have such relatively relaxing evenings. The one at the neighbors' house was THE BEST. It was like a litle slice of paradise. *happy sigh*

Those certainly sound like lovely evenings and its good to hear that Maya has found a form of exercise that she enjoys so much. :)

Yeah, so do I. But I wish there was something else she enjoyed that got her sweating a bit.

It's never dark enough here to see a lot of stars. But it IS dark enough to see fireflies (lightning bugs). I love them.
