I happen to have a friend who is a high-level transportation planner in the Washington area. He would be appalled if he knew of your story -- and I will pass it along when I next see him.

OMG, Toronto has SUCH a great reputation! It is hard to imagine a politico there would be so callous. Not that the impulse isn't equally well known in the US -- the idiot gov of Wisconsin some months ago proved just how anti-social (sorry for the pun, Annie!) a politician can get!

I'd be shocked. His office is a gongshow. To show how many frills he was gonna cut, he only has 17 staff (unlike the previous mayor's 25).
