Ha! I've got to mention that to my parents. They watch that.

Well, epidurals aren't all that great. They are really dangerous, for the mom and for the baby. Epidurals don't just take away the pain, they take away a woman's independence (once she is numb, she is completely reliant on the doctor for everything). It was DEFINITELY a male doctor who thought of strapping women to a bed with her legs in the air, unable to move or make decisions on her own.

The right to have one is obviously important though. It's stupid to deny things to only certain groups of people in general, but it is especially wrong in this case since most women have no idea how to relieve birth pain in natural ways. If they are going to not provide epidurals then they need to provide midwives or doulas and childbirth classes that are actually useful.

I don't blame Sally. David McCallum is hot stuff. When I started watching NCIS I was oddly fascinated (and crushing) on him and thought to myself "that man must have been a sex symbol previously, he's got too much damn magnetism otherwise." And lo, Wikipedia proved me right. He his second on my list of people I'd do regardless of their age, immediately after Anthony Daniels.
