Tight three-way conjunction of Venus, Jupiter and the crescent Moon tonight

I first read this article on Tina Fey at ohnotheydidnt and didn't notice who the author was. I imagined the author to be a creepy, pretentious old man who clings to Greek and German stereotypes and who is unhealthily interested in Fey's weight. Turns out the author is Maureen Dowd, so ( Read more... )

I read that whole Tina Fey article this morning, and was cringing a bit on the focus on, "She's a nerd, but now she's a TOTALLY HOT nerd and everything is a-ok!" (She is looking so good in those photos though!) And the "She must be sleeping with [Lorne Michaels]" comment...UGH!

RE: first kiss: Oh man! Didn't you know about the whole born-again virgins thing? hahahaha Also, not kissing is now equated with abstaining from sex? This is totally stupid. I could chatter more, but I'm not particularly eloquent at the moment.

ETA: RE: Silver Star assholes: *headdesk*

For some of the friends and family, the fact that the couple is kissing ~*for the first time OMG~* (because there has to be a big thing made about it or it doesn't count) is part of the fun.

If I may present a false dilemma, is that better or worse than asking the couple at the reception in front of everybody who's usually on top (not hypothetical)?

Jewish weddings have a bit where the bride and groom spend a few minutes alone together, for the first time. I understand (being neither Orthodox nor married) this is supposedly when they consummate the marriage-they're supposed to have long enough to do so-but outside rather crude jokes I doubt anyone believes they do.

And skinny nerds aren't the hot nerds, either, lol. Skinny != hot. Hot = hot.
