what text book is that out of? i have just become very interested in it. it actually pertains to me and "my people" or just me and my family and heritage.

I didn't know that, that quote was out of one of my nursing and women's studies textbooks. I can't remember which one it was from now, I think it was "Our Bodies, Ourselves". That class was the highlight of my college career so far.
