Number one, happy belated Australia Day! I went up to Mum and Dad's, watched the cricket, had lamb on the barbie for dinner and a rollover pavlova for dessert. The only thing that could've made it more Aussie would have been if we'd won the cricket. Always feels a bit wrong losing the Australia Day one-dayer

Afternoon :D It's a very Aussie slang thing to take the first syllable of a word/name and stick "O" at the end of it.
Servo = Service station, where you fill up the car and buy chips
Bottlo = Bottle shop, where you buy booze

And~ so on.

Hell no. That's far too many sounds for an abbreviation. Ain't nobody can out-do Australia for abbreviations. We don't just call the Melbourne Cricket Ground the MCG, oh no. It's, quite simply, the G.
