So the Sox spend more than $120 million and still might wind up in third place. Pitching has been the problem, but if they'd resisted the off-season temptations, then they'd still have Bronson Arroyo, Anibal Sanchez and Cla Meredith still in the fold. Wicked stupid, as they say.

I think this off-season is going to be one of the busiest in Red Sox history. (For the record, it wasn't Crisp for Bronson, it was WILLYMO. I love Willymo.) Nixon will most likely be shipped out, but I'm getting ahead of myself ( ... )

lol mike, first of all, thank you for making a comment longer than the entry itself.

second, my mistake about the arroyo trade! i love wily mo pena, but i feel like he doesn't get to play as much as he really does, and ugh! bronson arroyo! i'm still really upset lol.

but yes basically, this year was like upupupup.. CRASHANDBURN. the off season is going to be insane, definitely, but i don't think i'll be going into the 07 season optimistically.

The bench is a toss-up. We'll get some young guys in there. After the embarassing year we had this year, the brass is not going to fall back into promoting Pawtuckett. We're getting some NAMES. We'll see some cash flow. Look for Zito, look for Huff. PRAY for Zito, PRAY for Huff. Don't count on Vidro. Second base is a questionmark for exactly who we're getting. But I'd bet Loretta is out. He played hard, but he's not what we need ( ... )
